Paunit Support
Paunit helps pawn shops, secondhand dealers, and other businesses check a device before they take it in. Staff follow three guided steps and photograph a device's Settings screens: the About screen, the Find My or Google account screen, and the device-management screen. Paunit reads those screens and saves the result, with a photo of each step, to the shop's records, where managers can review it. Owners and managers use the web back office at https://paunit.com. Operators can also use the Paunit app for iPhone and Android.

Common questions
How do I sign in?
On the web and on Android, sign in with Google. On iPhone, sign in with Google or with Apple. Use the same sign-in method each time. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose "Hide My Email," Apple gives Paunit a private relay address (ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com), which is different from your Google email.
The app says "Your account isn't part of a shop yet." What do I do?
This means no shop has invited the email address you signed in with. The screen shows that exact email address.
- Ask your shop's owner or manager to invite exactly that email address. If it is an Apple private relay address, they need to invite the relay address, not your personal email.
- Once they have sent the invitation, accept it on that screen.
- If your manager invited a different email address, sign out and sign back in with that account.
Invitations expire after 7 days. If yours has expired, ask your manager for a new one.
How do I set up Paunit for a new shop?
Shop owners sign up on the web at https://paunit.com. We verify the business before the shop's account is activated. After that, the owner can add locations and invite managers and operators.
Do I need to download the on-device model?
No, it is optional. On supported phones, the app can download an on-device AI model (about 2.4 GB) so that analysis can run on the phone. Use Wi-Fi and make sure you have enough free storage before you start. You can skip the download and use cloud analysis instead.
Why does the app ask about sending photos to AI providers?
For cloud analysis, Paunit sends photos of the device's screens to third-party AI providers that read the screen. The app asks for your permission before it does this the first time. Our Privacy Policy explains how these photos are handled.
The camera isn't working.
Paunit needs camera access to photograph the device's screens.
- iPhone: open Settings > Paunit and turn on Camera.
- Android: open Settings > Apps > Paunit > Permissions and allow Camera.
Then close and reopen Paunit. Hold the camera steady, avoid glare, and fill the frame with the device's screen.
The app says there are no scan credits.
Plans and credits belong to your shop and are managed by the shop's owner or manager in the Paunit back office. If you are an operator, contact your owner or manager.
What do the results mean?
- No problems found: Paunit did not detect a problem in the screens it checked.
- Problems found — don't accept/buy yet: Paunit detected a lock or a management profile. Don't accept the device until the problem is resolved.
- Check incomplete: Paunit couldn't confirm every screen check (for example, the account-lock or device-management screen wasn't confirmed clear). Treat the device as unverified.
I lost my connection during an intake.
If a completed intake can't be saved, the mobile app keeps it on your phone and uploads it automatically when you are back online. Keep the app installed until the upload finishes.
Can Paunit unlock a device or remove a lock?
No. Paunit never bypasses, removes, or disables any lock or management profile. It only reads and records what the device's screens show. The device owner must turn off Find My or remove their account themselves.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account in any of these ways:
- In the mobile app: go to Settings > Delete account.
- On the web: sign in at https://paunit.com/delete-account.
- By email: write to privacy@paunit.com from the email address on your account.
Intake records you created belong to your shop and are kept for its records, with your email address removed. If you own a shop that still has other team members, remove them first or email support@paunit.com to transfer ownership. Our Privacy Policy has the details.

About verification results
A Paunit result reflects what the device's screens showed at the time of the check. Paunit does not check carrier or lost-or-stolen blacklists. Results can be incomplete or wrong, and a device's status can change after a check. A result is not a guarantee that a device is unlocked, not stolen, or lawfully owned. Your business decides whether to accept a device. Paunit and Utopian Creations LLC are not affiliated with Apple, Google, or Samsung.
Paunit is operated by Utopian Creations LLC.
